Paris, June 15, 2022 DCbrain has raised €5 million in funding to internationalize its market-leading AI-based engine INES optimizing complex supply chain and logistics networks. The financing round was led by Statkraft Ventures with co-funding from Breed Reply and under participation of the existing investors Aster, BPI France, EIT InnoEnergy and Cowin.

DCbrain is a Paris-based deep-tech SaaS company offering a state-of-the-art planning & optimization platform using AI and Hybrid AI algorithms outperforming by far the capabilities of existing network scheduling tools. DCbrain now has 10 million km of transmission lines integrated and optimized in INES. It is used by energy and supply chain network managers to better manage and optimize their assets.

DCbrain has impressed us with quick payback times and high ROIs for its supply chain and logistics customers. We are proud to support the company on its internationalization.’ –  Stefan Hülsen, Managing Director at Statkraft Ventures

‘Breed Reply is delighted to join Statkraft Ventures in this important round for DCbrain. For a while we have seen an increased need for the logistic and supply chain sector to be more efficient, dynamic, and managed in real-time and the use of AI is the answer to this. DCbrain has the right team to execute and deliver their powerful solution to carriers and shippers to optimize their networks, generating cost savings and reducing carbon emissions.– Richard Hadden, Partner at Breed Reply

DCbrain’s solution is the market leader for complex network optimisations, i.e. networks with numerous interconnected links and nodes, with different capacities and changing dynamically, like those that the supply chain companies are facing on a daily basis. The solution is already used by major operator customers such as STEF, a large French refrigerated transport company with more than 4,000 trucks, over 100,000 recipients per day for 9,000 shippers. For STEF, DCbrain provides recommendations for optimized traction plans while significantly reducing overall inter-agency transport costs. All DCbrain’s logistics customers are increasing their Supply Chain resilience, saving massive fuel costs and reducing their CO2 footprint (-5 to 10% for STEF, targeting -30% by 2030) through better planning and usage of the transportation capacities with improved truck filling rates. DCbrain’s platform is also being used by large gas networks managers (DSO or TSO) to better integrate green gases into their complex networks.

The Supply Chain sector is facing global constraints and shortages more than ever, and must act now to meet its CO2 emission target. This represents a huge market opportunity for DCbrain. This financing round will allow us to accelerate our European expansion plans and we are very pleased to welcome our new partners Statkraft Ventures and Breed Reply beside our existing investors.’ – Arnaud de Moissac, Co-founder and CEO of DCbrain.

‘Our platform is delivering tangible results, generated millions in savings for our customers and enabling them to achieve their green targets, so now is the right time for us to expand our solution in several other European countries’ – Benjamin de Buttet, Co-founder and COO of DCbrain.

‘Energy efficiency is central in energy transition. By bringing to the market these advanced, self-learning and adaptable technologies, DCbrain is able to bring a considerable and unequalled improvement in the efficiency of transport and energy networks. With this operation, EIT Innoenergy reaffirms its support to DCbrain and its commitment to massify the use of DCbrain’s solutions at the European scale’ – Karine Vernier, Partner at EIT InnoEnergy (historical shareholder)
